WHATS NEW IN PTC ACADEMY?:
For the rimester January to April 2012 Pasional Tango Club Vienna offers 4 Levels & all together 5 courses.
The Levels 1a and 1b are 2 different complete beginners courses.
All courses are 100% balanced in terms of followers and leaders.
As this is an important part of teaching philosophy we will be changing still regularly partners in class in order to learn how to lead and follow just anyone.
Singles please contact us as soon as possible if you like to be put on a 'Waiting-List'.
FOUR WEEKLY PRACTICAS Monday through Thursday 18h00-23h.
Every Saturday, one 'Women Technique' or 'Men Tango Training' Workshop will take place from 17h- 18h30.

SIGN UP / INSCRIPTION:
Please register as soon as possible per EMAIL with a partner : Write to us!.
Please specify your and your partners full name, date of birth, email address and telephone number.

If you don't have a partner please contact us (with as much information as possible about yourself) so we can sign you up on the "waiting list".
After Pasional Tango Club has received all inscriptions you will receive a confirmation email specifying your Level & Schedule.
Pasional Tango Club makes strong efforts to balance all classes ( leaders / followers ) and put together the most homogenous groups, but finally this will only work with your help:
So, please sign up as soon as possible so we can do all administrative background work and integrate every participant to the level that most will serve his/her learning. The quicker everyone signs up, the quicker you will know in which level you will be participating.

Sign-Up / Singles & Couples / Partner-Telephone-List / Change of partners in class / etc.:
Sign-up period : 12. December 12th 2011 - January 10th 2012
Sign-Up : Please sign up with a partner to each course.
In class we regularly change partners as a sound element of our teaching system. So, a partner ONLY serves the balance of as many leaders and followers in every class. But you will dance with every participant of your course regularly.
As all courses are always balanced (leaders & followers) you will get the maximum benefit out of every training and learn much quicker.
Course fee : - The whole course-fee is to be paid on the first day of class in cash directly in PTC before the course starts.
"Couple" means, that one signs up with a partner to the course and also attends every class with this partner.
"Single" means, that one signs up as one Person to the course. We offer to all 'Singles' to be put on a 'Waiting-List'. We will do our best to help you find a partner. Singles are only accepted to the course once a Partner is found. Singles, that find a partner through the efforts of Pasional Tango Club Vienna are still signed up as "Single" to the course and therefor have to pay the 'Singles-Tarif'. Singles, that find a partner through the efforts of Pasional Tango Club Vienna are still signed up as "Single" to the course and therefor have to pay the 'Singles-Tarif'. As soon as we have brought two 'Singles' together to sign up in a course, from there on they will be expected to attend all classes together just like a couple. So if you can not come one day, you will have to communicate this to your 'partner'.
So, All Participants of all courses in Pasional Tango Club Vienna have a 'Partner', no matter if they signed up as a 'Couple' or as a 'Single' and therefor they are expected to attend each class together or communicate with their 'Partner' in case of absence in order to give him/ her a chance to organize a 'helper' for that class (read further down : 'Partners-Telefon-List')
Change of partners in class : in all our courses we animate our participants to change partners regularly in order to really learn how to lead and how to follow.
If you keep dancing with the same partner you will rather learn your partner that to dance tango ;-) , your body will probably not learn to adjust to just any leader or follower or how to react to subtile changes, things that in the end will be the essence to what we call the Argentine Tango : to improvise joyful and relaxed with just anybody.
'Couples' that do not want to 'change partners' in class are of course welcome as well to participate; we just see it as our responsibility to inform you that you will get used to the errors of your partner quickly and will dance integrating those errors of your partner as well; while if you dance with different partners your ability to react spontaneously to just any lead or follow will develop much better and you will work more intensively on your own dance.

What can I do if my partner can not attend the class sometimes?
You can ask someone from a higher level if he/she wants to jump in.
'Partners-Telefon-List' : Pasional Tango Club Vienna will offer to you again a 'Partners-Telefon-List' in 2012. This list will help you to find someone to help you out if your 'Partner' will not be able to attend a class once and you still want to join. Everyone who likes to join can sign up on this list. This list is only distributed among participants that want to join the 'Partners-Telefon-List'.> You can invite someone to the class. Please note that if he/she doesn't have the level of the course you will have to dance with her/him all class long.

You can come to class anyway and do some exercises by yourself.
And of course if a friend of yours offers to change with you more often, so you can dance as well, you are welcome to participate.

What shall I do if I want to participate as a single?
Ask someone at the Open House, a workshop or Practica/Milonga.
You can anyway come to PTC in the first course-week in order to see if others are there as well in hope to find a partner. Many people come to the course without announcing themselves, there is no way for us to know. If you find someone there you can right away inscribe and participate.
You can sign up on our 'Waiting List', per email.
As soon as we have found a partner for you you can integrate into the course.
Singles that we have fond a partner through PTC are still bound to join class with this partner during the current trimester.
As pointed out before, a partner serves the balance of followers / leaders in class only.
Singles should watch out for partners in our Schnupper Workshops, Milongas, Practicas or groups like Tango-Partner.

There are so many singles (men and women) in the scene looking for partners to integrate courses that once you have started to look seriously you will find someone quickly.
If you found a partner through the efforts of PTC you will naturally have to pay the 'single's tariff'.
Women who like to learn leading /men that like to learn following : we are happy to welcome you as long as you stay for the whole term with your role or if you are a couple and want to change constantly both roles which is ok too.

COURSE TERM:
The course has 11 weeks, 3hs per level and week, all together 33hs systematically building up within the trimester.*
Every trimester has 3 parts, each interrupted by one course-free week.
*(The number of hours can vary slightly in some trimesters).

COURS THEMATIC & LEVELS:
Every course has it's own systematic build-up.
In which level every single participant can integrate will be decided by Carlos & Rosa only.
Please note that your learning and best progress in the Argentine Tango is our absolute interest.

Note : 
Just by participating in a higher level your personal level will of course not be higher at all.
In the contrary,  your level might decrease when you are trying to advance quicker than your body allows you to by forcing yourself to execute movements that your body didn't have time to integrate yet. 
Everybody learns on their own speed (which differentiate according to our history, physical abilities etc); 
and by respecting this fact you will improve much quicker.

In PTC we teach the students to being able to dance with just anybody, improvise & express their musicality to the different orchestras, keeping at any time the control over the line of dance. 
As teachers we feel highly responsible for the future of our students and find it really important that they learn a way of 'neutral' dancing, to the concern that afterwards they themselves can choose their own style (if they want to dance milonguero, salon or learn nuevo) and are not blocked by having taken wrong habits that are very difficult to change. 

Learning to express yourself in the dance is a long term process and needs lots of regular care as you will grow in different directions and develop a profound understanding for your own role in the dance, your partners role, the connection and constant exchange between the two and the movement of other couples on the dance-floor, the constant play and projection around the other's axis, the musical interpretation with and through your partner and last but not least your very own style that will be born out of all of the above.

Our teaching gives equal attention to both partners in the couple, not just to the leader!
The importance of the adequate technique, awareness, connection, embrace & musical understanding of the follower are too often underestimated.
These we stress in our regular classes from level 1 on and in Rosa's supplementary Women Technique Workshops and Carlos' Men Tango Training Workshops you can essentially speed up your learning as a follower.
